  6. The Antigua & Barbuda Social Security Board wishes to advise the general public that its Registration Unit is opened. Registration is by appointment only. Our registration forms for employees, employers and self-employed persons can be accessed via our website. Persons are reminded to pay keen attention to the necessary documents required when visiting our office. You may contact our office via email at registrationunit@socialsecurity.gov.ag to make an appointment to visit our office. Please note to bring along the requisite documents when visiting our office. Persons who do not have these documents will not be processed. Documents to be presented are as follows: Nationals: A valid passport or birth certificate along with an Identification Card Non Nationals: Valid work permit and Passport Marriage Certificate Operating hours for the Registration Unit will be 8:00am to 2:30pm until further notice.

The Antigua and Barbuda Social Security Board (ABSSB) wishes to advise the general public that the following documents should be placed in the drop box at the London House Branch until further notice: Sickness and Maternity Claim Forms; Remittance Payments with cheques; Correspondences addressed to the Director Further, persons wishing to make Funeral Grant, Survivor’s and Age Pension applications are to utilize the ABSSB’s web site to access the application forms and present the required documents at the London House Branch with the completed forms for processing.   13. It has been brought to the attention of the Antigua and Barbuda Social Security Board (ABSSB) of an Unemployment Assistance Fund Form in circulation of the General Public. We wish to advise that this form is not genuine and not in any way affiliated with the ABSSB or the Government of Antigua & Barbuda. Regrettably, the ABSSB does not offer an Unemployment Benefit. These are the benefits that are currently offered by the ABSSB: Sickness, Maternity, Invalidity, Age Pension, Survivor’s Pension and Funeral Grant

As we continue to amend our operations with containment efforts for COVID-19, the ABSSB wishes to advise the general public that with immediate effect, Social Security card photos will only be taken for first time holders of the photo Social Security card. Persons making payments for lost cards or card renewal will receive a card with their original photo.

With immediate effective, we wish to advise our customers that ALL sickness and maternity claim forms should be submitted through our drop box at our London House location or electronically to the following email address: customerserv@socialsecurity.gov.ag. You are encouraged to scan your claim forms if sending electronically. There are mobile apps available to do this, for persons without access to scanners. Please ensure that ALL sections of the forms are completed and signatures placed where necessary. Failure to do so will result in a delay of claim processing. We further encourage persons who so choose, to place their bank name and account number at the top of the forms. If you wish to receive your cheque in the mail, please place your mailing address in the address field. The office can be contacted either at the email address provided above or by calling 736-3000/1/2/3, for additional information. We will continue to provide updates on changes to our operations as we continue to work together to contain the spread of COVID-19.

The Antigua and Barbuda Social Security Board wishes to advise the general public that All interviews for Age Benefit, Survivors Benefit, Funeral Grant and compliance-related matters will be suspended for the remainder of this week, 17th - 20th March 2020.   17. All, employers and self-employed persons are reminded that remittance payments for February 2020 are due no later than 16th March 2020 to avoid the 10% surcharge. Further, employers are asked to take due care when submitting the monthly Remittance Form [R5A] as any incomplete or incorrect information will attract a penalty fee of $100 per page. N.B.: For 2020, contribution rates are: Private Sector - 13½ % a) Employees - 5¾ % b) Employers - 7¾ % Public Sector - 12½ % a) Employees - 4¾ % b) Employers - 7¾ % The contribution rate for Self-employed persons is 10% of declared earnings. Remittance payments can be made at: Cashier at Long Street from Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am - 3:30 pm & Fridays 8:00 am - 3:00 pm Drop Box located at the Royal Palm Branch from Monday to Friday: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm English Harbour Satellite Office from Monday to Friday: 9:00 am - 2:00 pm Please be guided accordingly.
